In the cloud

Well, this is the last blog post for this class. Instead of talking about the chapter 6, I would rather say that I honestly enjoyed this class. My fellow classmates were a good bunch of people and my teacher Mr. Lilly was as informative as he was enjoyable. I thought this class was going to be a tough one to stay awake in being so late at night but, Mr. Lilly really made the time fly. I learned a lot in the class, surprisingly more than I thought I was going to.

Chapter 5! A familiar subject

Hello, my name is Thomas Barnett and I am a social networkaholic. This chapter discusses everything from Facebook to twitter and everything in between when it comes to social networks. Being in the business I am in, social networking is an absolute must! I honestly do not know how freelance artists got along without the wonderful world of social networking! I have made so many connections using my Twitter account and my Facebook page, for me it is truly a necessary tool of the trade!

Chapter 4

Well, due to some hand surgery I missed the usual enlightening and whimsical conversation about chapter 4 in class. Taking on the daunting task of reading the chapter by myself proved to be a lonely one. Regardless of that, I found chapter 4 to be as informative as the others. No matter how much I think I know when it comes to websites and the internet in general, I am amazed at how little I truly know!!!!

I have to say that this is probably my most favorite part yet! Hello, my name is Tom and I am a Podcast-aholic. I actually subscribe to about 40 podcasts! I listen to them all day at work on my I-pod. They really get me through the day! The best part about most podcasts, they are FREE!!! RSS feeds have got to be one of the greatest inventions the internet has to offer! It saves so much time visiting websites that do not update everyday! I know when my comics publishing company takes off, there will be an RSS feed installed in our website! I was really excited when I realized I could put an RSS feed to my Deviantart account! Go ahead..take a look! It's over there on the right!

Wikis and Blogs and hyperlinks...oh my!

Chapter 2 discusses a lot of different ways you can really add content to a Blog! By adding video and hyperlinks to various other places on the web, you can turn a "Blah"g into something really cool that others will want to read.....or watch if you decide to create a video blog! A really cool way to get traffic to your blog is using such resources as Technorati or Ping-O-Matic. Those you can find here:

Web 2.0 the web becomes me.0

I can already tell that this class is going to be enjoyable. We got through the first chapter as a class and had some fun doing it. There is a website www.archive.com that has this application on it called, the way back machine. It lets you go to a website and you can click on a year, for example 15 years ago and see what that website looked like back then. Doing this, you can really see how the web has matured  into what we know it as today. what was once just a glorified encyclopedia is now a vibrant web of information delivered by text, video, chat and all sorts of tools. It has become a social networking dreamland! The web has matured but, I think it still has more to offer! As more software is developed I think the internet is going to surprise us with what it will be doing in even ten years from now. As the saying goes, "you aint seen nothing yet!"
